Chamomilla Matricaria
Description:
A Strongly aromatic annual herb, up to 2ft/60cm tall, with a hairless, erect, branching stem. It has delicate feathery leaves and a daily like white flower.
Actions:
Analgesic, anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, antiphologistic, antispasmodic, batericide, calminative, cictrizant, cholagogue, digestive, febrifuge, fungicidal, hepatic, nerve sedative, stimulant of leukocyte production, stomachic, sudorific, vermifuge, vulnerary.
Extraction:
The oil is extracted by steam distillation from the flower heads.
Characteristics:
An inky-blue, viscous liquid, with a strong, sweetish, warm-herbaceous odour. It blends will with geranium, lavender, patchouli, rose, benzoin, neroli, bergamot, marjoram, lemon, ylang ylang, jasmine and clary sage.
