Description:

An attractive perennial, almost evergreen, sub-shrub, up to 2ft/60cm high with a woody stem, small lance shaped leaves and publish-blue flowers

Astringent, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, bactericide, carminative, cephalic, cicatrizant, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, hypertensive, nervine, sedative, sudorific, tonic (to heart and circulation) vermifuge, vulnerary

Extraction:

The oils is extracted by steam distillation form the leaves and flowering tops.

Characteristics:

a colourless to pale yellowy-green liquid, with a sweet, camphoraceous top note, and warm, spicy-herbaceous undertone. It blends well with lavender, rosemary, myrtle, bay, sage, clary sage, geranium, and the citrus oils.
