Citrus Aurantium

Description:

An evergreen tree, up to 33ft/10m high, with dark green, glossy, oval leaves, paler beneath and with long but not very sharp spines. It has a smooth grayish trunk and branches and a very fragrant white flowers. The fruits are smaller and darker then those of the sweet orange.

Actions:

Antiseptic, antispasmodic, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrizant, cordial, deodorant, digestive, mildly fungicidal, stimulant (nervous), tonic

Extraction:

Essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the freshly picked flowers.

Characteristics:

The oil is a pale yellow, mobile liquid with a light, sweet-floral fragrance and terpeney top note. Blends well with virtually all oils, especially jasmine, lavender, rose, lemon and other citrus oils.
